A Texas man who purchased a pill-coating device from a website on the internet was sentenced to three years in prison.
Daniel Ponce Pache, 42, who had no medical prescription, had purchased Viagra from a website called Pharmacy Direct in January of 2012, after he contacted a site that advertised prescription drug products. Ponce told the website that he had purchased the pill-coating device from a website called "pharmacy.com." In order to ensure he was getting the product, Ponce contacted a website that offered the medication to customers, and was able to get them to purchase it.

Ponce had already committed to using the drug on himself. Ponce’s plea is the first to be heard by the FDA in the United States. Ponce had pleaded guilty and has been out of prison since August, when he was sentenced to one year in federal prison.
Ponce faces a combined total of three years in federal prison for the offense.
